With over 20 years’ experience of operating classic car tours he brings a breadth of experience to the team. His career started at a young age assisting his Father leading groups around Europe to classic car events, historic races and destinations. Invariably these tours would be led in an MG C Roadster or Triumph Stag, initially as a passenger then from behind the wheel as soon as he passed his test! It’s no surprise that this indoctrination in the classic car world meant he has remained in the industry ever since. Devising innovative and original tours for discerning drivers, from small groups to thousands of customers at a single event and everything in between.

Is responsible for the route planning and creation of our comprehensive road books. At Backwater we pride ourselves on our easy to use road books. Tulip diagrams are provided in our books, which for some, at first glance appear complicated but after a short time (and maybe some guidance from your tour manager) they quickly become second nature to all co-drivers.

Taking a lead on operations. Each Backwater tour is meticulously planned and Katie’s eye for detail ensures every tour runs like clockwork. Katie will often be on the phone with customers in order to understand all individual needs and requirements, so when you arrive on the tour you booked, the arrangements will be exactly as you expect them.

James is usually the first person you will speak to, he is knowledgeable and passionate about all of the tours. James will advise you on all elements available on the tour whether it be that lake view room upgrade or tailoring a ferry route to suit your needs. James is the man when it comes to booking your tour.
